People Manager
As technical expert, this role exists to maintain employee relations and cultivate a culture that promotes productivity, creativity, innovation, and growth within the organization.
The role of the People Manager will support the Senior Leadership team to improve the quality of the workplace environment and will take a people-centric approach to their duties.
The role works in close collaboration with the business to formulate People plans that deliver on company expectations and employee engagement.
Responsible for:
- Direct, support and coaching of the Senior Management and Line Manager teams.
- Working in partnership with the Functional Directors to develop and deliver their Functional People Plans.
- Working annually with the Finance Director and Functional Directors to generate the annual headcount plan. Driving consistency of talent planning in collaboration with Merabi Managers within current and future business needs.
- Developing and implementing initiatives (to budget) to support the following People strategies: Performance Management, Talent/Succession Management, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Communication (Internal & External), Employee Relations and Employee Engagement & Retention.
- Developing, reviewing, updating, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Managing employee relations and providing guidance on employment law.
- Ensuring compliance with appropriate regulations and standards.
- Driving performance management processes through clarity, leadership and accountability.
- Handling ER issues and including complex cases.
- Role modelling cross functional working, collaboration and thinking across the business.
- Defining and implementing standardised and consistent recruitment, onboarding, and talent development processes.
- Proactively facilitating and championing employee wellbeing initiatives.
- Leading employee engagement initiatives.
- Collaborating with Merabi managers to ensure that they are familiar with People policies and procedures, driving understanding and autonomy whilst identifying opportunities and mitigating risks.
- Coaching and build the people-capability of Merabi Managers improve performance.
- Supporting Merabi Managers in recruitment activities ensuring best practice and compliance along with consistency and alignment of recruitment activities to defined technical competencies and business strategy and values.
- Ensuring accuracy of employee records, HR Information Systems and providing accurate Management Information (MI) – to ensure the accurate maintenance, updating and auditing of manual and electronic employee records.
- Preparing accurate MI to report on key aspects of people data using People data to inform business decisions.
- Keeping up to date with industry developments and applying best practice to areas of identified improvement.
Accountable for:- Implementing best practice People practices (HR) to Nadine Merabi.
- Generating and implementing annual People Plans per function.
- Ensuring HR compliance with appropriate regulations and standards.
- Working to a defined budget.
- Upskilling Merabi Managers with people management skillset; ensuing consistency and ownership.
- Generating people data and metrics – informing business decision making.
- Defining and implementing employee engagement activities aligned to employee engagement or brand activations.
- Delivery of co-ordinated employee communications.
- Direct line management and development of People and Facilities Executive.
Essential Skills & Experience: - Experienced in HR / People in a fast-paced environment with a thorough understanding of employment law, tax, and compliance in the UK.
- An innovative, forward-thinking mindset who can create, consult, and engage to develop and implement people plans and strategies and drive action and change.
- Highly organized and capable of working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to multitask…the ability to get shit done - roll sleeves up and operate in a fast pace, agile environment.
- The ability to switch easily between operational and high-level thinking. Essential is the ability to roll your sleeves up, find solutions and implement them.
- Extensive Communications skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner and the ability to listen to the needs of others.
- Strong influencing skills, effective stakeholder management skills.
- Team focused with an understanding of the bigger picture and how you can contribute.

Preferred Skills & Experience:- CIPD Qualified.
- Experience in a business which is quickly scaling and changing.
- Strong business and financial skills, including financial planning, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- An understanding of employment law, tax, and compliance in geographies outside of the UK.
