ROLE PROFILE
The WAY

To contribute to the fit, size and function of styles from concept to launch.

Establish fit blocks and technical standards for Nadine Merabi brand.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITY
The WHAT

Responsible for:

• Fitting garments to a high standard.
• Working alongside the Pattern Cutter to create workbooks (in Excel).
• All fit and constructions comments to provide high standard quality stock and keep returns to a minimum.
• Accurately communicating any fit feedback to supplier.
• Establishing fit blocks and technical standards for the Nadine Merabi brand.
• Generating accurate size charts with consistent size grading which form part of the tech packs to the supplier.
• Day to day Garment Tech operational tasks, such as measuring samples.
• Ensuring all tech packs are of the highest standard and can be accurately translated by the factory into best quality prototypes.
• Thoroughly checking all samples submitted to ensure they meet Nadine Merabi’s high standards including all internal construction.
• Updating Merchandising Department of any issues to realign on critical path.
• Monitoring customer returns and put solutions forward on ways to improve.
• Co -ordinating any reprocessing work.
• Liaising with contacts at the 3^rd party warehouse on stock issues and feeding back to suppliers to improve for future orders.
• Working with contacts at the 3^rd party warehouse on packaging requirements for each garment to protect during transit.
• Visiting our 3^rd party warehouse, if required.
• Attending quarterly visits with our suppliers (currently in the Far East, Near East and South Asia)
• Maintaining awareness of all factory shipment dates using the Critical Path.

  • Coordinating daily communication with all suppliers including chasing fit samples.
  • Approving size specs for bulk production.
  • Reviewing high returning styles and act on any issues.
    
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
    The HOW
    
    Essential Skills & Experience
    
    • Proven experience as a Senior Garment Technician
    • Ability to measure to spec and to pattern.
    • Ability to understand, recommend and execute commercial construction solutions.
    • Strong organizational & time management skills; you need to plan and organise allocated workload.
    • Ability to measure and grade to a high standard.
    • Experienced in working with live fit models.
    • Confident in making decision on fit in line with company fit policy.
    • Able to confidently own / lead fit sessions – asking questions, providing challenge to ensure clarity on technical points and providing advise during these sessions.
    • Ability to document technical documents; capturing appropriate detail and ensuring the quality of the final garment.
    • Excellent communication skills when dealing with factories in Far East, Near East and South Asia.
    • Ability to lead when required, but also a team player.
    • A pro-active approach to problem solving.
    • Experienced in overseas travel - visit production sites and working with suppliers
      
    Preferred Skills & Experience:
    
    • Ability to read patterns.
    • Experience at Atelier, luxury or bridal.
    • Knowledge of boning, cups, and wires.
    • Understanding of fabrics and trims.
    • Experience in a fast-paced environment
    • Knowledge of Excel, Adobe Illustrator and PowerPoint
